DeMar DeRozan Signs Extension with Chicago Bulls
Three Years, $81.9 Million Deal Agreed Upon
Extension Keeps All-Star in Chicago
The Chicago Bulls have signed DeMar DeRozan to a three-year, $81.9 million contract extension, the team announced Tuesday. The deal keeps the All-Star guard in Chicago through the 2024-25 season.
"DeMar has been an integral part of our success over the past three seasons, and we are thrilled to extend his contract," said Bulls general manager Marc Eversley. "He is a proven leader and a key component of our team's identity. We believe he can continue to be a major contributor to our championship aspirations."
DeRozan, 34, is entering the final season of his current three-year, $85 million deal with the Bulls. He has averaged 25.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game since joining the team in 2021.
The Bulls are coming off a disappointing season, finishing with a 46-36 record and losing in the first round of the playoffs. However, DeRozan's extension signals the team's commitment to building a contender around him and fellow All-Star Zach LaVine.
